1. Statement of Commitment

People Development KOIN.S.EP (Avocado Learning Experiences) is committed to promoting the health, safety, and well-being of all employees, external partners, and participants in its activities by ensuring safe working conditions and a secure learning environment.

The company complies with:

  • Law 3850/2010: Ratification of the Code of Laws on Occupational Health and Safety,
  • Law 4624/2019: Personal Data Protection,
  • EU directives on safety, health best practices, and equal participation.

2. Scope of Application

This policy applies to:

  • All employees of the company,
  • All company premises and remote (teleworking) settings.

3. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Management holds final responsibility for implementing and reviewing this policy.
  • Project Coordinators are responsible for risk assessment, ensuring health and safety standards for each project, and compliance with requirements at action sites.
  • All employees and collaborators must:
    • Comply with this policy,
    • Follow health, safety, and well-being standards,
    • Act responsibly for their own and others’ safety,
    • Report any incident immediately.

4. Risk Assessment and Prevention

People Development KOIN.S.EP (Avocado Learning Experiences) conducts systematic risk assessments prior to every activity, including:

  • Fire safety and evacuation plans at workplaces. Basic orientation is provided on emergency exits and fire safety equipment.
  • Lighting, thermal comfort, and ventilation to prevent physical strain.
  • Noise and environmental factor control to ensure employee well-being.
  • Ergonomic workstations at both work and learning spaces.
  • Availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by risk assessment (e.g., masks, gloves, sanitizers).
  • Accident Management: Immediate reporting, recording, and corrective actions in case of an incident.
  • Prevention and management of risks during commuting to and from activity locations.
  • Prevention and management of risks during commuting to and from activity locations.
  • Encouraging the reporting of “near misses” to take preventive actions before real risks materialize.

5. Remote Work (Teleworking)

For working from home:

  • Guidance is provided on proper ergonomics (chair, lighting, screen position).
  • Frequent breaks for rest and physical movement are encouraged.
  • Mental well-being is supported through actions promoting work-life balance.

  • This policy is reviewed at least every two years, or sooner if required by changes in legislation, operations, or company activities.
  • Employees and collaborators are actively encouraged to submit suggestions and reports, as part of a culture of continuous improvement.
